What happens when good people stay involved in politics?

We’re here to find out (and help you get involved too)!

What We’re About

Our politics have a deficit of character because our political process discourages too many people, making them feel like their voice doesn’t matter (it does), that change isn’t possible (it is), and that political leaders are only in the game for their own self-enrichment, not to serve the public (unfortunately, that last part may be true… for now).

It’s up to us to change that last one by getting more involved ourselves, and by encouraging other good people to get involved as well.

GoodPolitics is here to take the barrier to entry out of getting involved in politics. Join over 800 of us—and counting—to build strong communities, better candidates, and good politics all across the state of Texas.

Join us at an upcoming event!

GoodPolitics x Bunkhouse Present 'Texas Summer: The State of our State'

Austin Motel | September 17, 6:30-8:30 pm

Summer is coming to a close so of course GoodPolitics is throwing a party.

Join us at Austin Motel on Tuesday, September 17, at 6:30pm in the courtyard and poolside as we share Lone Stars and hear from local leaders unpack what is actually going on in Texas. It seems like everyone is talking about Texas—from policies passed in the state Capitol this year to us being a swing state in 2020. But what does all of that actually mean for us?

We’ll be hosting a panel of folks in the courtyard to have a wide-ranging conversation about things like:

- Big takeaways from the 2019 Texas Legislative session
- What is actually happening down on our southern border?
- Is Texas really a swing state?
- Who’s running against Senator John Cornyn and what do they stand for?
- Austin’s Congressional races are heating up
- How are Presidential candidates from Texas, Julián Castro and Beto O’Rourke, doing?

PSA: These topics are NOT things you need to have any prior knowledge on in order to attend. We're here to learn and to have fun and to take advantage of half-off Austin Motel pool passes together.

We’ll be joined by the real MVPs from Texas Civil Rights Project, and elected officials (yet to be announced). We’ll kick off the evening with a panel in the courtyard followed by cocktails, poolside.

This event is free and open to the public, pool passes are available for purchase at a discounted rate of $10 (normally $20).
